The best logo ever?

If you don’t need to read it, or recognize the elements, or have business with OPEC, you will never notice this logo, even in plain sight. But if you do, it’s incredibly distinctive and appealing. It does some of the shape stuff the old PBS logo did, grabbing your eye again and again to unpack what’s being implied or symbolized.

​The four circles look like refinery tanks seen from above. I don’t know what the “p” stroke is doing. Maybe a derrick, but upside down? Maybe a crane.
